Dear Students and Parents:
Welcome to 5th grade! In order to help you with a smooth transition back to school in September, we are sending you a list of school supplies required by the 5th-grade teams. You are encouraged to reuse any of the following items that you have at home or from previous years.

*Calculator Information:
Students need access to their own calculator. A scientific calculator will be used for both the Math State Test and math class, in addition to later High School courses. You may use a scientific calculator that you already own from 6th grade. If you are purchasing a new calculator, we recommend the following:

This is available in stores as well as online.
Be sure to label your calculator with your name with permanent marker
Students should also make sure that their home computer & printer are ready to go.

Scientific Calculator

If you are purchasing a new calculator, we recommend the following calculator:

Graphing Calculator
Needed for both Algebra 8 and Enriched Algebra and later High School courses.
If you purchase a graphing calculator, we recommend:
Texas Instruments TI-84 Plus CE Graphing Calculator
(which is in color and has a rechargeable battery)
These calculators are available in stores as well as online.
Be sure to label your calculators with your name in permanent ink.
Students should also make sure that their home computer & printer are ready to go.

Band:

Shoulder Rest Notes: Some violin/viola cases do not have space to keep the shoulder rest inside. If your child’s instrument case does not fit their shoulder rest, you may purchase a shoulder rest pouch that can be attached to the violin/viola case.

Sizing Information: String instruments are assigned depending on the size of the player. If your child is in school, I am happy to measure them as well.
